| Measure | Ingredient |

| 1 cup | Vanilla wafer crumbs |
| 1 teaspoon | Baking powder |
| ¼ teaspoon | Salt |
| 3 | Egg whites; stiffly beaten |
| 1 cup | Sugar |
| 1 cup | Chopped dates |
| ½ cup | Chopped pecans |
| 1 teaspoon | Vanilla |
| 1 cup | Cream; whipped |
Combine crumbs, baking powder and salt. Fold sugar into egg whites. Fold crumb mixture, dates, nuts and vanilla into whites. Pour into greased 9-inch pie pan. Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes. Serve with generous dollops of whipped cream.
