Dampfnudeln (prune dumplings)

Measure Ingredient
18 ounces Flour
3 tablespoons Sugar
\N \N Salt
1 pack Yeast
2⅛ cup Milk
1 \N Egg
2 tablespoons Oil
2 tablespoons Butter
2 tablespoons Sugar
2 tablespoons Poppy Seeds
\N \N Dried, seedles prunes

Make a yeast dough out of flour, 1 tb sugar, salt, yeast, milk, egg and oil.

Let rise and then roll out, 2-3 cm (1") thick and cut with a round cutter into 5 cm (2") diameter circles, let rise again.

Fill each circle with one prune, pinch good on edges. Heat butter and sugar in a skillet and add 1 cup of water; add the dumplings and cover and simmer 5-8 min on medium.

Put the dumplings on platter and melt butter and mix with sugar and poppy seeds and pour over dumplings. Serve warm.
