½ teaspoon | Ground Nutmeg |
1 teaspoon | Butter |
½ cup | Raisins; Seeded |
1 \N | Whole 8\" Pie Shell; Baked |
⅓ cup | Sugar |
1. Combine sugar and cider; heat until dissolved.
2. Beat egg yolks; stir into sugar mixture and cook until thickened.
3. Add nutmeg, butter, and raisins.
4. Pour into baked pie shell.
5. Beat egg whites until foamy; add sugar gradually, continuing to beat until stiff.
6. Spread over pie filling and bake in preheated slow oven (325 degrees) for about 15 minutes, or until meringue is golden brown.
