Measure | Ingredient |

2⅓ cup | Sifted flour |
1 pack | (4-oz) instant chocolate pudding |
1 teaspoon | Salt |
1 teaspoon | Soda |
1½ cup | Brown sugar; firmly packed |
⅔ cup | Butter |
1 cup | Buttermilk or sour milk |
3 \N | Eggs |
1 teaspoon | Vanilla |
1 pack | (6-oz) chocolate morsels |
¼ cup | Chopped walnuts (optional) |
Sift flour with instant pudding, salt and soda. Add brown sugar, butter and buttermilk. Beat 1-½ minutes with mixer on low speed. Add eggs and vanilla. Beat 1-½ minutes. Turn into three greased and floured 8-inch round pans. Use about 1-½ cups batter per pan. Sprinkle chocolate morsels over layers. Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes. Cool. Frost and decorate with walnuts.
