Chipped beef & cheese strata

Yield: 4 Servings

Measure Ingredient
8 slices White bread; remove crusts
\N \N Butter; or marg.
5 ounces Jar of chipped or dried beef
2 cups Sharp cheddar cheese; grated
4 \N Eggs; beaten
2¼ cup Milk

Lightly butter the bread. Place 4 slices, butter side up, in a greased baking dish. Arrange half the dried beef over the bread; sprinkle 1 cup of grated cheese over beef. Add another layer of beef and cheese.

Place the last 4 slices of bread, butter side up, on top. Combine eggs and milk and pour over bread; allow to stand 1 hr before baking.

Bake uncovered in a 350 oven for 1 hr until puffed, brown and set.
