Chickpea puree

Yield: 4 Servings

Measure Ingredient
3 \N Cloves garlic; chunked
¼ cup Slice green onions
¼ cup (packed) fresh parsley leaves
3 \N Grinds fresh black pepper; more or less
1 dash Cayenne pepper
1 dash Ground cumin
1 dash Turmeric
1 \N Lemon; juice of
1 dash Tamari or soy sauce
1 can (16-oz) chickpeas; rinsed and drained

Combine the garlic, onions, and parsley in the food processor and process til smooth. Add the rest of the ingredients and process til desired consistency is reached - just a little for a chunky puree, quite awhile for a creamy puree. A little water may be necessary to correct consistency.

Serve as a dip or spread for veggies or baked tortilla/pita chips.
