chicken kebabs ^

6 servings
¾ pounds Boneless skinless chicken breasts
2 teaspoons Lemon juice
1 teaspoon Curry powder
⅛ teaspoon Chili powder or cayenne
¼ teaspoon Salt
  Oil for deep frying
  Lemon wedges for garnish BATTER:
1 cup Flour
1 cup Water
½ teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon Baking powder
½ teaspoon Curry powder
½ cup Dry bread crumbs

Rub chicken breasts with a mixture of the lemon jice, curry powder, chili powder and salt. Place on a plate, cover and let stand at room temperature for 10 minutes. Cut meat into 12 stripsnadn thread on metal or bamboo skewers. Mix all batter ingredients except bread crumbs. Spread bread crumbs out on a plate. Heat oil to moderately hot. Dip chicken in batter then roll in bread crumbs until well coated. Deep fry about 2½ minutes until cooked through and golden brown. Serve hot with lemon wedges.
