Yield: 8 Servings
Measure | Ingredient |
---|---|
½ cup | Cashews -- raw |
2¼ cup | Water |
3 tablespoons | Dates -- chopped |
⅛ teaspoon | Ground cinnamon |
1 dash | Turmeric |
16 \N | Whole-wheat bread slices |
Place ingredients into a blender jar (except for the bread). Blend until smooth. Strain into a bowl. Dip slices of bread into mixture, coating both sides. Brown on a medium-hot, non-stick griddle, turning once so both sides are evenly browned. Serve plain, with fruit sauces or pure maple syrup.
HELPFUL HINTS: For a large amount, the recipe can easily be doubled. This freezes very nicely if individually wrapped and can be popped into the toaster for reheating.
