| Measure | Ingredient |

| 1 cup | Chopped onion |
| 1 | Clove minced garlic |
| 1 can | (8-oz) tomato sauce |
| 1 teaspoon | Salt |
| 1 cup | Chopped green pepper |
| 2 tablespoons | Oil or shortening |
| 1 can | (15-oz) pinto beans |
| 3 cups | Hot cooked rice |
In large skillet cook onions, peppers and garlic in fat until tender. Stir in tomato sauce, beans and salt; simmer 10 minutes. Serve over beds of rice.
