⅛ teaspoon | Egg shade (optional) |
1½ teaspoon | Vanilla |
1½ ounce | Dark rum, 1-1/2 shots, approximately |
¼ cup | Dark brown sugar |
4 tablespoons | Butter |
2 pounds | Day old bread; cubed |
Mix eggs, milk, sugar and flavorings in a large bowl. Grease casserole dish. Place bread cubes in casserole dish. Pour liguid mixture over bread cubes. Top with butter and brown sugar. Cover with aluminum foil and bake in a water bath at 300 degrees until pudding sets ( approx. 40 minutes ) (Courtesy of City Tavern)
