Measure | Ingredient |

4½ cup | Apples; peel, core, chopped finely |
5 cups | Sugar |
1 cup | Water |
1 cup | Slivered almonds |
½ cup | Raisins |
½ teaspoon | Lemon rind |
2 tablespoons | Lemon juice |
¼ teaspoon | Cinnamon |
1 \N | Box certo crystals |
½ cup | Brandy |
Measure fruit into a large saucepan. Measure sugar and set aside. Add water, almonds, raisins, lemon rind, lemon juice, cinnamon and certo crystals to apples. Mix well. Place over high heat and stir until mixture comes to a hard boil. At once stir in the sugar. Bring to a full rolling boil and boil hard for 1 min. stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Stir in brandy . Skim off foam with a metal spoon. Then stir and skim for 5 mins. to cool slightly. Pour into sterilized jars and seal. Makes 7 cups Source-Certo booklet
