beef-cabbage rolls/clay cooker

Clay cooker
4 Servings
¾ pounds Lean ground beef
⅛ pounds Salt pork; ground
1 cup Rice; cooked
1 each Egg; beaten
½ teaspoon Salt; pepper
10 eaches Large cabbage leaves
¼ cup Consomme
2 tablespoons Melted butter

Soak lid of glazed clay cooker. In a bowl mix well all ingredients.

Put into clay cooker. Cover and place in cold oven. Turn temperature to 425F and bake for 80 minutes. From Schlemmertopf Recipe book.
