Beef casserole italiano

Measure Ingredient
1 pounds Ground beef
¼ cup Yellow onion -- chopped
2 cans Tomato sauce -- 8 oz. each
1 teaspoon Parsley flakes
1½ teaspoon Leaf oregano
1 teaspoon Leaf basil
½ teaspoon Salt -- divided
¼ teaspoon Pepper
2 packs Frozen spinach, 10 oz. each, thawed and drained well
2 cups Ricotta cheese
1 pack Mozzarella cheese slices --
\N \N (8 oz.)

Brown ground beef and onion; drain off fat. Stir in the tomato sauce, parsley, oregano, basil, ¼ teaspoon salt and pepper. Simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Meanwhile, combine spinach, ricotta cheese and remaining ¼ teaspoon salt. Spoon spinach mixture around edges of 13-in. x 9-in. x 2-in. baking dish; pour beef mixture into center. Cut each mozzarella slice into three strips and arrange in a lattice pattern over meat Bake at 375 deg.
