Beans and chops bake

Yield: 4 servings

Measure Ingredient
4 \N Pork chops; 1 lb.
2 tablespoons Onion; finely chopped
1 tablespoon Shortening
16 ounces Pork and beans with tom. sc.
⅓ cup Applesauce
¼ teaspoon Allspice, ground
2 tablespoons Almonds, slivered; toasted

Brown chops and cook onion in shortening until tender in heavy skillet. Cover and cook over low heat for 30 minutes. Add beans, applesauce, and allspice; cook, covered, 15 minutes or until the chops are tender. Stir occasionally. Garnish with almonds.
