basil & cheese dumplings

1 tablespoon Butter or margarine
1 tablespoon Fresh chives; snipped -OR-
1 tablespoon Green onion; sliced
½ teaspoon Dried basil leaf
½ cup Creamed cottage cheese (4oz)
1 cup All-purpose flour; sifted
½ teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon Baking powder

Melt butter or margarine in a small skillet. Add chives or green onion and basil. Cook, Stirring constantly, until herbs soften.

Remove skillet from heat. Stir in cottrage cheese; set aside. Sift together flour, salt and baking powder into a medium bowl. Add cottage-cheese mixture. Stir until combined. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls into simmering soup. Cover soup and simmer until dumpling are firms, about

15 minutes. Makes about 12.
