Basic candy popcorn

| 1 | cup | Sugar |
| ⅜ | cup | White corn syrup |
| 1 | tablespoon | Butter |
| Oil of peppermint * | ||
| 2 | drops | Food coloring |
| ½ | cup | Popcorn; popped |
Directions
In a heavy saucepan put the water, sugar, corn syrup and butter. Cook over a moderate heat to 280~ on a candy thermomter. Add the oil and the food coloring.
Stir well and pour over the popped corn.
