Measure | Ingredient |

1½ pounds | Ground chuck |
1 medium | Onion; minced |
1 cup | Fresh bread crumbs |
1 \N | Egg |
1½ teaspoon | Salt |
¼ teaspoon | Pepper |
1 cup | Ketchup -or- |
1 can | (8-oz) tomato sauce |
2 tablespoons | Brown sugar |
2 tablespoons | Prepared mustard |
1 tablespoon | Cider vinegar |
Put beef, onion, bread crumbs, egg, salt, pepper and ½ cup ketchup in bowl. Mix lightly until well blended. Transfer to loaf pan. Mix remaining ketchup, sugar, mustard and vinegar; pour on top of loaf. Bake at 350 for 1 hour. Let stand 5 minutes before serving. To make bread crumbs, quarter 3 slices fresh white bread and put into blender. Cover and blend at high speed about 10 seconds.
