| Measure | Ingredient |

| 4 cans | (small) tomato paste |
| 1½ quart | Vinegar |
| 2 cups | Sugar |
| 1 pint | Water |
| 5 ounces | Chili powder |
| 2 tablespoons | Cumin |
| 4 tablespoons | Red pepper or cayenne |
| 2 tablespoons | Liquid smoke |
Mix all ingredients in a 2-gallon cooker. Simmer on very low heat for 30-45 minutes.
