| Measure | Ingredient |

| 1 large | Onion; chopped |
| ¼ pounds | Butter or margarine |
| 1½ teaspoon | Salt |
| 1 cup | Raw rice |
| 2 cans | Consomme |
| 1 | Soup can water |
| 1 pack | Slivered almonds; optional |
Saute onion with butter & almonds. Do not let almonds get too brown. Add rice, salt, consomme & water. Pour into 2-quart casserole dish & bake in preheated oven at 350 for 1 to 1-½ hours or until done. Cover dish for the first 20 minutes. Serves 8-10.
