Baked noodles and ham

Yield: 4 servings

Measure Ingredient
½ pounds Noodles, wide
1 cup Ham, cooked; diced
1 \N Egg; beaten
2 tablespoons Butter; melted
¼ cup Sour cream; at room temperature
2 tablespoons Dill or parsley, fresh; chopped
\N \N Salt and pepper; to taste
\N \N Bread crumbs; fine, dry

Recipe by: The Eastern European Cookbook-ISBN 0-486-23562-9 Cook noodles according to package directions until just tender. Drain.

While noodles are still warm, combine with remaining ingredients, except bread crumbs. Sprinkle the inner surfaces of a buttered shallow baking dish with bread crumbs; spoon the noodle-ham mixture into dish. Sprinkle top with bread crumbs. Bake in a preheated moderate oven (350°F.) for 40 mins., or until mixture is cooked.

Serves 4.

NOTES : The Poles are extremely fond of noodles, kluski, which housewives

often prepare at home. Kluski are cooked with several foods such

as poppy seeds and homey, cottage cheese ans sugar, cottage cheese

and sour cream, or fried bacon. This dish may be served as a luncheon or supper entree.
