Measure | Ingredient |

1⅓ cup | Sugar |
1⅓ cup | Water |
1 cup | Seeded raisins |
2 tablespoons | Butter |
2 larges | Carrots; grated |
1 teaspoon | Cinnamon |
1 teaspoon | Cloves |
1 teaspoon | Nutmeg |
1 cup | Walnuts |
1 pinch | Salt |
2 cups | Flour |
2 tablespoons | Baking soda |
Put sugar, water, raising, butter, carrots, cinnamon, cloves & nutmeg into a saucepan & boil slowly for about 5 minutes. Remove from heat & allow to become perfectly cold. NEVER USE WHILE STILL WARM! Then add walnuts, salt, flour & baking soda. Bake very slowly in a loaf pan for about 1-½ hours.
