2½ pounds Asparagus
¼ cup Butter or margarine
3 tablespoons Green onion -- thinly
  Sliced
¼ teaspoon Curry powder
½ teaspoon Salt
⅓ cup Flour
2 cups Milk
⅓ cup Parmesan cheese -- grated

Snap off and discard tough ends of asparagus; cut stalks inot slanting slices. In a wide frying pan, bring 1" of water to a boil over high heat. Add asparagus; cover and cook just until tender crisp to bite, about 3 minutes. Drain. Melt butter in a medium size pan over medium heat. Add onions, curry powder and salt. Cook, stirring often, until onions are soft, about 5 minutes. Stir in flour and cook, stirring, for 1 minute. Remove from heat and gradually stir in milk. Then return to heat and cook, stirring constantly, until sauce boils and thickens. Stir in asparagus. Pour mixture into a shallow baking dish and sprinkle with cheese. Bake at 400 until bubbly and heated through, about 15 to 20 minutes. 159 calories and 10 grams fat.
