almond spice heralds

MeasureIngredient
¾ cup Shelled almonds, soaked 5 hr in 1 1/2 c water
¾ cup Raisins, soaked 5 hours in 1/2 c water
¼ cup Dates, pitted, soaked 1 hour in 1/8 c water
¼ teaspoon Cinnamon
⅛ teaspoon Cloves
⅛ teaspoon Cardamom
½ teaspoon Grated lemon peel
⅓ cup Ground alomnds -=OR=- shredded coconut

Drain soaked almonds & discard their soaking water. Drain the soaked fruit (this soaking water could be reserved to act as a sweetener in other recipes). Grind almonds, raisins, dates in a food processor.

Mix in the spices & lemon peel thoroughly. Form the dough into balls & rol in either ground almonds or shredded coconut. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Will keep up to 1 month.
